This Is Boracay Now: Boracay Station 3 Toured In Martin Andanar's Update

A few months ago, President Rodrigo Duterte closed down Boracay to make way for the Boracay Rehabilitation. Which will enable the island to earn more than what they are already earning; the project was unsurprisingly met by an uproar of criticisms.


However, just less than 100 days after the rehabilitation was started, a massive change can already be seen.

Serene and beautiful

Palace Communications Secretary Martin Andanar published a live video on Facebook where he is showing the viewers how beautiful it is now in Boracay.

What once was a very crowded and messy Station 3 in Boracay looks like a serene and clean shore. Just 71 days into the program, it is unbelievable how this is achieved in this little time.

Political will

Andanar went from the shop lanes as well as the shore, showing a 360-degree-view of what is now a very clean Boracay.

He mentioned that only President Duterte was able to do this, only Duterte has the political will to face the opposing and negative comments of people just so he can do what he knows will help the country eventually.

Boracay rehab

On April 26, Presidential Spokesperson announced that Boracay will be closed off to make way for its rehabilitation.
Several opposing parties, as well as the business owners in Boracay, voiced out their disapproval of the plan of the government. They didn't think about the long-term advantages that Duterte is after.


Now, just a little over two months after starting, experts confirmed that Boracay is no longer a cesspool. Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu said Boracay is on target with their rehabilitation.

"Mas mababa na [ang bacteria level ng tubig]…. Kasi noon medyo tumataas [o] bumababa [ang bacteria level], ngayon medyo steady na. And I can claim now na the pipes na pumupunta doon na hindi [dapat], wala na iyon,"
This just means that the rehab is not only on the surface but a real rehabilitation.
