In a radio interview, Vice President Leni Robredo complained about the prices of red peppers. But netizens are bashing her and saying that they don't need peppers every day.

People are crying

In the interview, the VP said that people are already crying because, from P300, the price of taiwan pepper per kilo rose up to P1000.

She also mentioned that the inflation rate in the Philippines rose up to 6.4.

Pepper is not a staple food

Blogger and social media personality who supports President Rodrigo Duterte, Maharlika posted on her Facebook page her sentiments about the radio interview.

Maharlika wondered how the VP can say that as if it is the first time that she experienced a high price for any product.

This has been going on for quite some time now, all presidents that have been seated experienced a fall of the economy at least in their early years.

"Sabi ni Lugaw, umiiyak na raw ang mga tao dahil tumaas ang presyo ng sili. Para bang ngayon lang nakaramdam ng pagtaas ng presyo si FAKE VP sa buong buhay niya. IIang kilo ba ng sili sa isang araw ang kinukunsumo ng isang tao? Sungalngalin ko ng sili yang bunganga mong puro kasinungalingan. Peke!"

Debunked

A few days ago, a photo on Facebook circulated about the inaccuracies of the price of Taiwan peppers in SM Market.

In which, the management released a statement debunking it.

"The photo currently being circulated on social media regarding the price of pre-weighed Taiwan peppers is not accurate. Please find the correct pricing for the product reflected in all our stores carrying it. We encourage the public not to engage with the erroneous post."

Netizens react

The netizens agreed with Maharlika and wondered why the price of peppers is a big deal. They also said that VP Leni shouldn't be complaining about the prices and bringing the economy down.

She should be helping the country and doing something about it.
