Not Just the TRAIN Law
The TRAIN law certainly has some effects on the current price hike of commodities but it is not the ultimate reason, said Gov. Marcos. In fact, corporate earners and professionals benefitted largely from it. Their income taxes are greatly reduced. There might be a need to exempt the basic needs for value-added taxes imposed but the most effective tax shield is to ensure that sales agents are brokers won’t take advantage of the farmers’ proceeds.
The World’s Gasoline Crisis
The ongoing switch from gasoline to hydrogen fuel evident in the sales of hybrid cars in Japan signifies that there’s an immediate need to do so. The Japanese government even offered a subsidy for new buyers of this environmentally-friendly transportation system. It is not a secret that the country is a vital source of deuterium, a rich source of hydrogen fuel. It is already waiting for the extraction permit from the DPWH. Since gasoline is dwindling, a replacement is needed asap.

Gasoline Subsidy could be a SONA Highlight
Gov. Marcos wishes that the gasoline subsidy by the government during her father’s regime be implemented during the present time. This is to prevent the prices of the daily needs to increase tremendously. Perhaps an ideal highlight for the next SONA. It is also a clear proof that the late President Ferdinand Marcos’ priority was for the people’s welfare.
Local Strategy
The good governor is hands-on when it comes to the agricultural undertakings of Ilocos Norte. They are the main producer and supplier of rice. She is proud to say that there is a substantial price difference if one compares the rice prices of other provinces to her bailiwick. Their local prices are much cheaper than the others.
