After 5-Minute Girl's Public Apology, MMDA Will Still Pursue Physical Assault Case

In a video that took the social media's interest, a woman who had a heated argument with the enforcers when the MMDA tried to apprehend her for illegal parking, was put into boiling water, together with her husband.

After the video went viral and their identities found out, the couple issued a rather stiff - and blurred - public apology.

In the apology, the couple read from a script and acknowledged that they made a mistake, but the public wasn't so convinced that they were remorseful.

Aside from that, MMDA Commander TF Special Operations Edison Bong Nebrija stated in a radio interview yesterday that the couple personally apologized to him.

“Personal silang humingi ng apology sa akin,”

Moreover, the public and personal apology are not enough to stop the MMDA from filing charges. Nebrija explained that they will still pursue the cases that will be filed against the woman.

“Tuloy ang kaso, direct assault,”

In a phone interview with Raffy Tulfo, Nebrija explained that when they tried to apprehend the woman, she tried to drive away. This resulted in the MMDA Rider's motorcycle to get hit. Apart from that, two officers nearly got squished by other vehicles because of this.

Direct assault

The case that will be filed against the woman who was identified as Prosecutor Christine Estepa is a direct assault against a person of authority.
