Martial Law Anniversary
On September 21, 1972, Martial Law was enacted through Proclamation 1081. It was then declared on the 23rd of September.
Hence, to mark this 46th anniversary of President Marcos’ declaration of Martial Law, some groups and universities hold protests. This is according to earlier reports.
Resistance on the Alleged Dictatorship

Enrile’s Denies Martial Law Brutality
Enrile claims that the country was in better condition when martial law was declared in 1972 than the country’s situation now.

The Communist Party is Not the Organizer
The Communist Party of the Philippines also says that they are not the event’s organizers, but, they do support the opposition.
Their statement says; “The CPP denounces the officials of the Philippine National Police for insisting on the announcement that such actions are the doings of the CPP, NPA, and the NDF.
This is apparently to justify plans to clamp down the protests. However, it is obvious through the media interviews of the presumptive Vice President Leni Robredo that the Liberal Party is behind all the movements.
Precautions
In the anticipation of the rallies, Joseph Estrada suspends classes in all levels both in public and private schools.
The PNP is set to observe maximum tolerance for the rallies. Meanwhile, in anticipation of road closures because of the activities, the MMDA urges the motorists to take alternate routes.
